New Delhi: Chandrababu Naidu met Rahul Gandhi at his Delhi residence in a bid to bring all non-BJP parties together ahead of 2019 General Elections. The two sides are expected to take forward the talks of an alliance between Telegu Desam Party and Congress for the assembly elections in Telengana, which will be held in December.

“We have to defend democracy and future of the country. So we are coming together to work instead of delving in the past. All opposition forces must unite.”  Rahul Gandhi said while addressing a press conference after the meeting.

“We have to save the nation and the democracy. There is a democratic compulsion for everyone to unite. For that, we have to bring everyone on the same platform.” said Chandrababu Naidu.

All the opposition parties that have confirmed their participation in ‘Mahagathbandhan’ will be meeting soon to work out things and chalk out a program for future. Earlier in the day, Naidu also met Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdullah and Ghulam Nnabi Azad for the same reason.
