V. Muraleedharan lashes out at Kerala govt over Covid surge

Claims that the Left Front is using the pandemic for “political objectives”

Kerala has had a good health infrastructure for ages yet failed to combat Covid, said Union minister V Muraleedharan.

The statement came a day after Kerala saw the highest spike of 31,445 fresh Covid-19 cases since May 30.

He further added that the state had vaccination even in the pre-independence period and if the government is still under performing it depicts its “inefficiency and incapacity”.

“The testing mechanisms as suggested by ICMR and (testing) numbers are far less in the state. The state should give more attention to restricting COVID”, says Muraleedharan.

The state is trying to use pandemic for political objectives rather than using scientific methods to contain the spread, he added. He also urged the state to follow ICMR guidelines, saying that the home quarantine (plan) has miserably failed.
