India’s Srikant Kidambi continued his fantastic form in the Japan Open Super Series as he beat World No. 27 Hu Yun, 21-12, 21-11 in a pulsating pre-quarterfinal match in Tokyo.
Kidambi raced to an early lead in the first game and before Hao could crawl back the Indian wrapped the game in style. Kidambi gave nothing away and won the second game 21-11 to storm into the quaterfinals.
Earlier, Sameer Verma lost to China’s Shi Qui 22-20, 10-21, 13-21.
