Six people died and eight others were injured in the town of Myaing in central Mynamar, on Thursday, during anti-military strikes, as per reports from the local media.
The incident happened merely hours after the United Nations Security Council, condemned violence against peaceful protestors in Mynamar and urged the military to, “to exercise utmost restraint”.
While, international news agencies are yet to report on the incident, several images and videos are being posted on social media by citizens. Khit Thit Media, a local news media organisation is one of the few reporting on the incident, in the midst of a severe media crackdown in the state.
On February 1st 2021, the military seized control of the nation, by detaining elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi, on claims of election fraud.
