Senate to receive FBI report on SC nominee Kavanaugh

The Senators are all set to receive the FBI report on US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on the allegations of sexual harassment against him.

The conclusions of the report will not be made available to the public but will be able to review the report on Thursday.

The allegations came forward after Professor Christine Blasey Ford testified that Kavanaugh and another man had sexually harassed her at a party in the late 1980s.

Another woman, Deborah Ramirez, also accused Kavanaugh of exposing himself to her.

While the Republicans are in a hurry to move the vote for the Senate because Kavanaugh’s appointment to the Supreme Court will shift the ideological balance of the Supreme Court in favour of the Republicans.

President Trump has also tweeted in support of Kavanaugh dissing Dr.Ford in a recent rally.

Supreme court judges hold the position for life, thus making it easier to settle matters like abortion or gun control according to the Conservatives.

As of now, Kavanaugh’s confirmation lies on the Republicans voting strictly along party line because of their 51-49 majority only in the Senate.
