Samsung Electronics unveiled the newest member of its flagship grade Galaxy S20 series, in Seoul on 23rd September, 2020. The new phone, Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) includes innovations that the Galaxy S20 series fans mentioned in their feedback and is being made available at an accessible price point at $699 for 5G.
The company said in its statement that the disruption caused by Covid in the world has led technology to play a more crucial role in people’s lives and that the Galaxy S20 FE was created to deliver flagship experiences to even more consumers.
“The S20 FE is an extension of the Galaxy S20 family and is the start of a new way to bring meaningful innovation to even more people to let them do the things they love with the best of Galaxy,” said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business for Samsung Electronics.
Keeping in mind the centrality of taking photos or videos and sharing them in one’s self expression, Samsung packed the Galaxy S20 FE with a pro-grade camera along with a 32MP selfie Camera including tetra-binning technology that lets you instantly capture a post-worthy picture.
Galaxy S20 FE’s large image sensors including multi-frame processing, help take richer, more vibrant images — even in low light — so that one could simply snap and go. Night mode multi-frame processing with AI frame integration stabilizes motion in-shot while you record, so you can focus on having fun.
The mobile makes it easy to create, curate and share stunning photos and videos in real-time like a pro.
In order to ensure that everything from the design to performance is a great experience to the fans, Samsung said, it had equipped the Galaxy S20 FE with the advanced Samsung Exynos 990 processor and 5G connectivity to enable a seamless experience. The Galaxy S20 FE has a 6.5-inch Infinity-O Super AMOLED screen with a super smooth 120 Hz refresh rate that makes it perfect for fluid scrolling and watching videos.
The Galaxy S20 FE has a 4,500mAh battery, which Samsung claims is capable of lasting throughout the day. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and in-display fingerprint sensor. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE supports face unlock.
It runs on Samsung’s One UI 2.0 based on Android 10. Similar to other Galaxy users, Samsung promises three generations of Android operating system (OS) upgrades to the Galaxy S20 FE users too, to keep the mobile updated with the latest security protection and features that Samsung has to offer.
It packs 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be beefed up to 1TB via a hybrid microSD slot.

With 5G connectivity and access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate7, fans can enjoy an advanced mobile gaming experience. It can also instantly connect to the Galaxy ecosystem of products, such as Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Fit2.
The Galaxy S20 FE comes in a selection of six vibrant colours — Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy and Cloud White — each with signature design elements pulled from the Galaxy S20 family. It also features a premium textured haze effect that minimizes fingerprints and smudges.
Safety wise, Galaxy S20 FE has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. With Samsung Care+, Samsung offers a personal set-up session with a Samsung Care+ Pro, 24/7 dedicated support via phone or chat, discounted screen repair, an extended warranty and coverage for accidental damage.
