Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly, BS Yeddyurappa, on Thursday blamed the Kerala government for being unable to approach the Supreme Court to stop the entry of women into the Sabarimala temple, ahead of the Sabarimala Rath Yatra.

The BJP leader also claimed that more than 90 percent women were protesting against the Supreme Court verdict, adding that our culture has always respected women. He further urged the Kerala Chief Minister to take necessary action to move the Supreme Court to reverse the verdict.

He also blamed the state government for making the situation in Sabarimala tense.

The Sabarimala Rath Yatra that is set to begin from Kasargod on Thursday, November 8, will reach Sabarimala on November 30, after the temple will be reopened for mandala pooja season. The BJP stated that the move was being made to “save the customs and traditions” the shrine.
