Ravi Shankar’s offer for mediation on the Ram Temple dispute was met with skepticism by parties on both sides. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) have both expressed concerns over his involvement in the age-old temple dispute.
The Art of Living founder will meet key stakeholders in Ayodhya today, a day after a ‘courtesy meet’ with CM Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow yesterday.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Shia Central Waqf Board revealed that he met with Ravi Shankar on October 31. “I met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and apprised him of the (Shia) Board’s stand that a Ram temple should be constructed at the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. I have met all seers and mahants contesting the case for the construction of a temple in court. All of them are ready for talks,” he said.
BJP MP Subramaniam Swamy took to Twitter while Ravi Shankar is enroute Ayodhya:
