Qatar Airways QR 541 Doha-Kolkata flight hit a water tanker while taking off from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, at 1:52 am.
Airport director Atul Dixit said, “The passengers were safely evacuated. We have informed the Director General of Civil Aviation about the incident. Now it is up to them to conduct a probe.”
The aircraft had 103 passengers onboard who were taken to a hotel in Kolkata, They will board the next flight to around 3 am on Friday. The accident caused damage to the aircraft belly.
