Initiative aimed at leveraging technology for collaboration in social welfare activities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the “Main Nahin Hum” app and portal on Wednesday, while addressing a townhall conference with IT professionals in New Delhi. The initiative will enable IT professionals and organizations to bring together their efforts towards social causes, and service to society, on one platform.

Stressing on the use of one’s capability and resources for the betterment of the society, Modi said: “India’s youngsters are leveraging the power of technology wonderfully. They are using technology not only for themselves but also for the welfare of others”.
Based on the theme “Self4Society”, the portal is expected to help catalyze greater collaboration towards the service of the weaker sections of society, especially by leveraging the benefits of technology. It is also expected to generate wider participation of interested people who are motivated to work for the benefit of society.

Over 1 lakh IT professionals joined the conference virtually, and around 2,000 were present at JLN stadium complex, the venue for the townhall interaction.
