The State Reorganisation Act of 1956 marked the birth anniversary of five Indian states on November 1.
Post-Indian independence, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala were separated into three states under the act giving preference to linguistic standards. After a decade, Haryana chiseled out on the same day in 1966.
Chattisgarh was formed in the year 2000 partitioning 10 Chhattisgarhi and 6 Gondi speaking southeastern districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Prime Minister Modi extended his wishes for the five prosperous states on Twitter.
Some states like Haryana and Karnataka have come a long away. Plummeting sex ratio in Haryana has considerably increased given the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Andolan”. They had the maximum number of champions at the Goldcoast Commonwealth Champions 2018.
People friendly programs like Anna Bhagya (providing rice to poor free of cost), passing of Anti-Black Magic Bill, 2017 and being a hut-free state are some of its numerous achievements.
