Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Newton’ has been maintaining its lead at the box office after being released on Friday, September 22. The movies ‘Bhoomi’, starring Sanjay Dutt, and ‘Haseena Parkar’ starring Shraddha Kapoor, which were released on the same day, have not witnessed much hike at the box-office.
On first Monday, ‘Haseena Parkar’ minted INR 4.87 Crore, ‘Bhoomi’, witnessing a drop, collected INR 7.61 Crore, and ‘Newton’ overtook the two by earning INR 8.21 Crore.
The National award winning actor, Rajkummar Rao is the protagonist in the film. The story of the film revolves around a government clerk who is consistent on conducting a fair voting on an election day despite of the fear of attacks and the non-cooperation of the security forces.
The film was released on Friday at INR 90 lac, and performed well, earning INR 3.50 Crore by Sunday.
The story of Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Haseena Parkar’ is based on Dawood Ibrahim’s sister. Meanwhile, the story of Sanjay Dutt’s comeback movie ‘Bhoomi’ revolves around a father-daughter relationship, wherein Sanjay Dutt plays the role of the father, and Aditi Rao Hydari plays the role of the daughter.
