MJ Akbar terms allegations against him as “fabricated non-events”

Former Union Minister MJ Akbar recorded his testimony in the defamation case he filed against Journalist Priya Ramani at the Patiala House Court. He claimed that his reputation was damaged due to the false allegation made on his behavior by Priya Ramani which has resulted in “immediate damage”.

Journalist Priya Ramani accused MJ Akbar of sexual misconduct 20 years ago, when they were colleagues. The former Minister of State for External Affairs claimed that when the tweets of Priya Ramani were carried out in various magazines, he had chosen to resign and fight for justice in his personal capacity.

Akbar delivered his testimony before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Samar Vishal at around 12 noon today.
