Patel had recently recovered from COVID-19.
Former Gujarat CM Keshubhai Patel passed away on Thursday due to Post-COVID complications. He was rushed to Sterling hospital in Ahemdabad after he compained chest pain and passed away following a cardiac arrest. He was 92.
He was tested positive for corona virus in the month of September was asymptomatic.
Patel served as the CM of Gujarat in 1995 and from 1998 to 2001. He was succeeded by Narendra Modi.
He quit the BJP in 2012 and found his own political party — Gujarat Parivartan Party, which later dissolved into BJP.

Prime Minister expressed sadness on Patel’s death, he said that Patel’s death is an irreplaceable loss.

Patel was born in Visavadar town of Junagadh district in 1928. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1945 and started his political career as a worker for the Jan Sangh.
