JUST IN: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrives in Agra.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has arrived in Agra, ahead of his much-anticipated visit to the Taj Mahal.

Adityanath will launch a cleanliness drive outside the iconic 17th-century monument before visiting the famed monument. Mr Adityanath’s visit comes over three weeks after his government introduced the booklet which catalogues important tourist destinations in the state but found no mention of the white marble stunner.

The Chief Minister is also expected to address the media later to speak about Uttar Pradesh’s Rs 370 crores development plan for the city and the proposed international airport at Agra.

This is Adityanath’s second visit to the city, but first to the Taj Mahal, after taking over as the chief minister. He is likely to stay in Agra for about eight hours.
