Four terrorists killed in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir


Security has been tightened in Nagrota along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, after four terrorists were neutralized in an encounter between them and the security forces near the Ban Toll Plaza, according to ANI.

According to initial reports, the truck that the terrorists were traveling in was intercepted by the security personnel at the Ban toll plaza. The encounter broke out as they opened fire on the security forces during a search operation. The operation lasted for two hours.

The terrorists who are likely from Jaish-e-Mohammed used old modus operandi and had recently infiltrated to the Indian side as sources told ANI. The investigation is underway.

The Indian security forces have neutralized more than 200 terrorists, over a dozen commanders of terror groups and two Hizbul Mujahideen operational chiefs in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir including Dr Shaifullah of Malangpora who was among the oldest active terrorists in the valley and was involved in several attacks on the Indian security forces.
