Jaishankar on a mission to build partnership with Israel

India’s external affairs minster, who is on his first visit to Israel is trying to build a strong relationship between the two countries.

In a bid to strengthen academic research and technological ties with universities in Israel, the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called on Presidents and senior officials of several leading universities in Tel Aviv.

Jaishankar, who is on his first visit to Israel also met Israeli Prime minister(PM) Naftali Bennett on Wednesday and discussed about strengthening of strategic alliance, expanding bilateral ties and keeping the friendship between both the countries.

On behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jaishankar invited Bennett to visit India.

While conveying the greetings of PM Modi to the Israeli PM, he said, “we are today at a very important stage of our relationship because things have gone very well for us. But it has opened up a whole lot of possibilities, So, I think the challenge is how to work to take our relationship to next level.”

In response to Jaishankar, Israeli PM called India as a huge friend and said that they are looking forward to expand relationship with India in all fields and dimensions.

Jaishankar who is on a mission to build partnership with Israel met their President Isaac Herzog and discussed about the changes in geopolitical landscape and emphasised that defence and security are key pillars of the relations between the two countries.
