Lyon (France): Interpol issues global alert for law enforcement across its 194 member nations asking them to be careful about organised crime networks targeting covid vaccine, both physically and online. He further said, “Criminal networks will also be targeting unsuspecting members of the public via fake websites and false cures, which could pose a significant risk to their health, even their lives.” He also asked countries to prepare for law enforcement as much as possible for what will be an onslaught of all types of criminal activity linked to the COVID-19 vaccine, which is why INTERPOL has issued this global warning.

The Interpol has also warned the public to be extra cautious when they go online to check medical equipment or medicines. Interpol’s alert has come in a time when world nations have authorised the usage of certain vaccines in emergency purposes.

On Wednesday, the United Kingdom became the first country  to authorise use of Pfizer-BioNTech for emergency purpose, thus, paving way for the delivery of the vaccines from next week. Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko also said that more than 100,000 people in Russia have already been inoculated against the coronavirus.
