The official figures put the fatality rate at 1.50 percent

Dhaka [Bangladesh], October 29, 2020

India has logged 49,881 new COVID-19 cases in a daily count, taking the tally so far to 80,40,203, according to the data collected from Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

With 517 new deaths were registered, the death toll climbs to 1,20,527, as of 8 am on October 29, according to government data.

The number of recoveries crossed 73,15,989 with 56,480 new patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

A total of 10,65,63,440 samples have been tested across the country up to October 28, according to the Indian council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Globally, over 44 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus and 1,16 million have died, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
