India and Australia exchange five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during President Ramnath Kovind’s maiden three-day visit to the island nation.
The MoUs were exchanged by M. Gondane, High Commissioner of India to Australia, and Harinder Sidhu, his Australian counterpart. Of the five MoUs, one was for cooperation in the disability sector and another for cooperation in agricultural research and education.

Kovind is the first ever Indian head of state to visit Australia. He is set to attend the unveiling ceremony of a Mahatma Gandhi statue in Sydney today. On Friday, he is scheduled to meet Linda Dessau, governor of Victoria, and leader of the opposition Bill Shorten in Melbourne.
