India registers 3,993 fresh COVID-19 cases

Kerala reports the highest number of cases in the country

India reported 3,993 fresh COVID-19 cases yesterday. The cases have been the lowest in the last 662 days and the active cases have gone down to 49,948.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Kerala registered 13,684 active COVID cases, and 24 deaths yesterday, which is the highest in the country.

Kerala is followed by Maharashtra (7,475 cases), Mizoram (4,209 cases), Karnataka (3,078 cases) Rajasthan (2,645 cases), and Tamil Nadu (2,414 cases).

While the daily positivity rate is 0.46%, the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.68%, and the recovery rate is 98.68%, with 8,055 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

With 8,73,395 tests conducted yesterday, the testing rate has gone up to 77.43 crore and a total of 179.13 crore vaccine doses have been administered among different age groups in the country.
