We need to ensure that our collective effort is the only way to fight against terrorism.

India lauded the efforts of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) for countering terrorism and stressed that it will continue to fight against new emerging threats. While speaking during United Nation Security council (UNSC) meeting, India’s Deputy Representative to UN, K Nagraj Naidu said, “OSCE was the first regional organization to strongly condemn the terrorist attack on Indian parliament in 2001 and we believe that OSCE has an important role to play in fight against terrorism.”
He also mentioned the eight point action plan in front of council which was earlier proposed by India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on 11th January while addressing the council.
Naidu also congratulated Sweden for taking OSCE chair, “We welcome Sweden’s strong focus to further the agenda for women, peace and security during its Leadership. We also appreciate Sweden’s strong emphasis on dialogue, inclusion and respect for agreed principles to approach the challenges that we face today”.
Ann Linde, Sweden’s Foreign Minister is the new OSCE Chairperson and took office in January 2021.
The OSCE, the largest regional security organization, also addressing some of the toughest Transnational threats such as weapons proliferation, migration, environmental damage and drug trafficking and cybersecurity.
