International Film festival of India jury head for non feature films, Vinod Ganatra called the #MeToo movemEnt a fad and said that people were using it as a means of publicity.
According to ANI, while talking to the media during the ongoing 49th IFFI in Goa, Ganatra stated that the movement will fade over time. “It is a fad, which has come with time. It is a chance to get publicity and mileage. It will not last. What is authentic will last. What is not authentic will disappear. There are people who encourage it,” he said.
His comment comes close on the heels of similar statements by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Bollywood actress Preity Zinta.
The rising awareness about the #MeToo movement in India has placed the spotlight on the big names of various industries holding them accountable for their actions and words.
