Honeypreet Insan, adopted daughter of jailed Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, was arrested on Tuesday along with another woman. However, this arrest came 39 days after the Dera chief was convicted of rape and has raised questions.

In an interview with Times Now, Bhupinder Singh Gora, a relative of Ram Rahim Singh, has claimed that the Z-plus security provided to her was one of the reasons why she could evade the authorities for so long. He also suspects the involvement of the Haryana police and government.

Honeypreet, had earlier been booked at Sector 5 police station in Panchkula. Her name has been included in the same FIR in which other Dera functionaries Aditya Insan and Surinder Dhiman, among others, had been booked for allegedly inciting violence and arson.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted by the special CBI court in Panchkula on August 25, following which violence and arson had erupted in Panchkula and Sirsa districts of Haryana. He is currently lodged in Sunaria jail in Haryana.

She was produced in court today and has been sent to 6-day police custody.
