Former Punjab Chief Minister returns his Padma Vibhushan

Prakash Singh Badal, former Punjab Chief Minister has returned his Padma Vibhushan as a protest against the Central Government for its treatment of  the protesting farmers. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan- the second highest civilian honour of the country by the government in 2015.

The 92 year old’s Shiromani Akali Dal has pulled out of the NDA alliance over the farmers’ protest. Mr. Baddal said that he is registering his protest because he feels that the Government has ‘betrayed farmers’.

A group of top sports persons and coaches from Punjab  have  also decided to return their awards and march to Delhi on December 5 to show their solidarity with the farmers.
