Fire breaks out at factory in Delhi’s Bawana

No casualty has been reported in the incident so far

According to PTI, a fire broke out at a plastic granules factory in northwest Delhi’s Bawana on Tuesday, officials said.

No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident so far, they said.

A senior fire official said the factory is located in I-55, Sector-5, DSIDC Bawana Industrial Area.

Atul Garg, Director of Delhi Fire Service, told HT that a drone was used by them for probably the first time for sizing up the fire.

The fire department received information regarding the fire at 7:47 am, he said.

Initially, 15 tenders were sent to the scene. “As the fire was massive, more fire engines were sent to the spot” the official told IANS, adding that 28 fire tenders are currently dousing the flames.

There has been the loss of property. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Thick fumes of black smoke could be seen billowing out of the building.
