ED raids: Search underway at PFI Leaders’ houses

Kerala : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is carrying out raids at the residence of Popular Front of India (PFI) Chairman OM Abdul Salam . According to reports, Karamana Ashraf Maulvi and Nasaruddin Elamaram have also been raided by the ED from Thursday morning.  Houses in Thiruvananthapuram and Malappuram being investigated by a team from Kochi.

The Popular Front of India had been under the radar of the Central government over allegations of illegal funding. The organization, which is not yet banned was said to instigate the CAA riots in Delhi. Siddique Kappan, a Malayali journalist who went to cover the Hathras rape case was also charged with Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act over alleged links with PFI.

Anis Ahmed, General Secretary of Popular Front of India had earlier tweeted about the silence of “Godi media” on the Muslim organisation related to the Farmers Protest in Delhi.
