Disha Ravi, the 22 year-old arrested in connection with the ‘Toolkit’ google document, has moved the Delhi High Court against the leaking of any investigative material related to her case today.  The climate activist has also sought action against TV channels India Today, and Times now for violating the Cable Television Network’s Regulation Act, according to legal website LiveLaw.

In her petition Ravi states that ‘she was wholly unlawfully and without basis arrested in Bengaluru allegedly in connection with the Toolkit FIR and flown overnight to New Delhi without obtaining transit remand in flagrant violation of her constitutional rights’. In her petition she also states that ‘she is highly aggrieved and prejudiced by the media trial surrounding her arrest and the ongoing investigation she is being viscerally attacked by media houses like News18, TimesNow and IndiaToday on the basis of leaked investigative matter and prejudicial press briefings’.

Ravi was arrested on 13th February, from her house in North Bengaluru after a Toolkit made to amplify the ongoing farmer’s protests online, was tweeted by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. Ravi had allegedly been a part of the creation of the toolkit according to the Delhi Police, however she says she had only edited two lines of it.

Ravi is currently in police remand.
