CM determines a Third Wave of Covid-19 in Delhi

 

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said that the capital was witnessing the Third wave of Covid-19 as it recorded the highest single-day spike of6,842 fresh cases. The spike surpassed the previous highest tally which was recorded on Tuesday.

He further stated, “I would only like to say that there is no need to panic as we are continuously monitoring the situation and all the necessary steps will be taken.”

He further assured that a review meeting would be convened on Thursday to analyze the Covid-19 situation. He also mentioned that a decision regarding the bursting of crackers in Delhi would also be taken.

Delhi Health Minister, Satyender Jain added that the spike in the cases could be a call for the Third wave. He later also stated that the sudden surge was a result of aggressive contact tracing and testing.

Jain further said that there was some shortage in ICU beds in private hospitals since many people, especially the upper-middle and middle class and who can afford treatment in hospitals and have insurance policies, were preferring private healthcare facilities.
