Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh: An Italian wedding

Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer singh are all set to tie the nuptial knot today at the Casta Rica Resort and Spa, in Italy, on Wednesday.

The wedding festivities will go on for two days, with the traditional Konkani ceremony today. It will be followed by the Anand Karaj ceremony, held in the Sikh tradition, on Thursday. The couple got engaged today morning.

The pre-wedding festivities included a mehendi ceremony, followed by sangeet, in which Ranveer Singh reportedly played the dhol.

The wedding is being attended by the couple’s close friends and family. A strict no-photo policy was placed on the attendees, as the couple wishes to share the wedding pictures themselves.

According to a Pinkvilla report, Deepika Padukone will wear a red and golden lehenga designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for her Sindhi wedding. The report citing a source has revealed that, “The bridal lehenga will be a vibrant red with intricate threadwork; it will bear the designer’s signature touch. Ranveer, on the other hand, will be seen in a Kanjeevaram Sherwani with equally delicate threadwork.”

Upon their return to India, the couple will make their first public appearance at the Bangalore reception, which will reportedly be held on November 21.

Extensive measures have been taken to ensure security at the wedding venue. All guests or visitors have to present a special wrist band at the Costa Rica resort while security guards cover up the camera lenses on mobile phones with stickers.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are tying the knot on the anniversary of their first film together, Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela.
The two started dating on the sets of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.
