Coronavirus: 262 students test positive after school reopens in AP

262 students and about 160 teachers were tested positive for coronavirus after schools reopened in Andhra Pradesh on November  2. 

India’s coronavirus cases crossed 83 lakhs today with 500 recorded deaths in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Andhra Government officials reportedly disabused the concerns around the recorded cases of students and teachers, saying that the figures are not alarming as opposed to the number of students attending classes.

He also assured that schools are maintaining the SOP guidelines as advised by the government and proper Covid-19 protocols are in place in all these institutions.

According to the findings of the serosurvey conducted by the Karnataka Department of Health and Family Welfare Services, a total of 27.3 percent of the state’s population was exposed to the virus by mid-September.

The study also furthered that an estimated 16.4% of the 15,624 samples studied had antibodies developed against the virus as of September 16.
