China Open: Kidami Srikanth marches into Pre-Quarterfinals of China Open

Fuzhou (China): Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the China Open World Tour Super 750 tournament after defeating Lucas Corvee of France on the second day of the China Open by registering 21-12, 21-16 win in men’s single match.

Men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also advanced to the second round of the tournament, registering a straight games victory over seventh seed Danish pair of Mads Conrad-Petersen and Mads Pieler Kolding.

 On the other hand, HS Prannoy proved to be a no challenge against Asian Games 2018 champion Jonatan Christie and crashed out of the men’s singles Round 1 in Fuzhou.

In the mixed doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponnappa bowed out of the tournament fighting against the seventh seed Peng Soon Chan and Liu Ying Goh in three games.
