Northeast monsoons sweep through Chennai in an onslaught of heavy rain leaving the city inundated.

Kolkata: Chennai experienced heavy downpour of upto 11cm of rain since 7 am this morning. The onset of the northeast monsoon over Tamil Nadu and Kerala has been predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department.
The Hindu reports that GP Road junction, Ponnamalee High Road and Anna Nagar West areas of Chennai are now completely inundated. Heavy rain and thunder is expected to continue throughout the day in Chennai.

Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from entire country on today, the 28th October, 2020.
In past southwest Monsoon had withdrawn from entire country on 28th October in 2016.
