Seville [Spain] : Chelsea’s Oliver Giroud scripted a Champions League record as his team won 4-0 over Sevilla here. 34- year Giroud scored all four of his side’s goals. “Oldest player to score a hat-trick in the Champions league era. Giroud equalled current Chelsea coach Frank Lampard’s 2010 record of most goals in a game after an early goal followed by three in the second half. Giroud continues his fine run of form and now has scored most goals for Chelsea with 14. Frank Lampard commended Giroud after a rare start, “He isn’t always a regular, but his performances have shown that he is a great sign for young players to keep training well. It was an amazing performance, to score four goals in the Champions League is a fantastic achievement.”
Lampard praises Giroud’s professionalism, noting even when he isn’t starting he has such a great impact on the group. The boss is also delighted with the team performance tonight, and of all those who came into the team.#SEVCHE

The away win over Sevilla takes Chelsea to the top of the group, keeping Sevilla at second spot. In the other group fixture, Krasnodar defeated Rennes by a lone goal.
