Champions League: Liverpool beaten; Manchester United and Juventus to lock horns

Liverpool faced an unprecedented defeat against Serbian club Red Star Belgrade in a Champions League game at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade, Serbia on Tuesday.

Last edition’s finalist, Liverpool had no answer to two Milan Pavkov goals. He scored both the goals within a span of seven minutes in the first half.

Positioned in Group C, Liverpool now finds themselves in a tricky position whit their next game also being an away fixture against Paris Saint-Germain.

In the other game of Group C, Napoli and PSG played out a one-each draw. Juan Bernat gave the Parisians the lead from a Mbappé assist before Lorenzo Insigne scored a second-half penalty to level it for Napoli.

Inter Milan and Barcelona, in another game, played out a draw where both sides scored a goal each.

Without the service of Lionel Messi, Barcelona had taken a late lead with substitute Malcom’s goal. However, Mauro Icardi helped Inter level the scoring when he smashed one into the net from the box.

In the other games Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur registered victories from their respective matches.

Manchester United and Juventus are all set to lock horns in what seems to be a blockbuster clash where Cristiano Ronaldo will play against his old team.

Mnachester United will look to revive their performance after losing the home game against Juventus in the first leg.

Ronaldo was critical on his return to Old Trafford as he had assisted in the only goal scored in that match. Paulo Dyabala had scored from his cross to give Juventus the full points.

Other than that Valencia, Manchester City and Bayern Munich will also take on the field tonight.
