A Delhi Police committee which “probed the sequence of events” and “negligence on part of local police” in connection with JNU January 5 violence, has given a clean chit to the force reported by The Indian Express.
The committee comprised of Joint Commissioner of Police (Western Range) Shalini Singh with four inspectors and two ACPs was formed by the then Commissioner of Police Amulya Patnaik.
On January 5, around 100 masked people went on a rampage with sticks and inside JNU Campus for four hours, leaving 36 students, teachers and staff injured. An FIR was registered and the case was transferred to Crime Branch.
