BCCI AGM on Dec 24; New IPL teams and cricket in Olympics to be discussed.

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) BCCI will hold its 89th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 24.The BCCI secretary, Jay Shah informed the state bodies that the venue of the meeting will be informed later. The introduction of two new teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be the subject of discussion in the meeting along with cricket’s inclusion in the Olympics.
In the mail, accessed by ANI, the secretary wrote: “Notice is hereby given that the 89th Annual General Meeting (hereinafter referred to as “AGM”) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (“BCCI”), which will be held on December 24 , 2020, at 1200hrs IST to transact the business as per the agenda annexed herewith.

The notice also listed 23 matters for discussion at the 89th BCCI AGM, which included the election of the vice president. Mahim Verma, who was elected unopposed as the vice president last year, resigned from his position earlier this year. The new appointments will be made to the posts of Ombudsman and Ethics Officer, BCCI’s representative to the ICC, Cricket Committee and Standing Committee, and the Umpires’ Committee.
The major highlight will be the addition of two teams in the IPL. Sources say the inclusion of Ahmedabad city as new team is almost certain. A decision on the Mega Auctions for the 2021 season will also be taken, as per reports.
