Australia left out pace spearhead Mitchell Starc and their best all-rounder Mitchell Marsh in its T20 squad for upcoming series against South Africa and India.
Experienced pacer Peter Siddle and veteran spinner Nathan Lyon has also been omitted from the squad as the selectors are keen on preparing the four for the upcoming test series against India.
The selectors want the four senior players to play some red-ball cricket in Shefield Shield, Australia’s domestic four-day cricket tournament.
“While I know all four have a desire to keep playing cricket for Australia in every format, but with really tough test series against India, we believe their best preparation would be to play in the Shefield Shield”, said Justin Langer, Australian coach.

Marcus Stoinis will return to the squad after missing the T20 series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.
“Marcus missed our recent T20 matches in the UAE because he hadn’t resume bowling, but now he’s back on full fitness and will add great depth to our option”, Langer said.
Pace bowler Jesen Beherendorf will take Starc’s place in an attack which also feature Nathan Coulter-Nile and Bily Stanlake.
Australia were whitewashed 3-0 against in the T20 series against Pakistan and will now face South Africa in a one-off T20 match in the Gold Coast on November 17.
