MUMBAI: A Special Court of National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charged Sadhvi Pragya, Prasad Purohit and five others for terror conspiracy, murder and other related offences in the Malegaon blast on Tuesday. The court has set the next date of hearing on November 2.

The court has rejected the plea of Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit that challenged the validity of the sanction to apply Unlawful Activities(Prevention) Act in this case.

The September 29, 2008 blast in the Muslim Majority town of Malegaon left six dead and 101 injured. In November 2008, the Anti-Terrorism Squad had arrested 11 people in connection with the blast. The investigation was transferred to NIA in 2011.
